About the Show
Henry V is Shakespeare’s account of the events at the Battle of Agincourt with a healthy dose of ribaldry tossed in. The Classical Theatre of Harlem’s cast plays multiple characters in an ensemble mix of blacks and browns, jersey fabrics and leather trims, that illustrate a thrust of human qualities brought to bear on status and war. Each performer wears a flash of English red or French blue, often changing sides in an instant. Costume inspiration comes from a combination of Alexander McQueen and Asian dance.
